In honor of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, here is a flashback to the 1988 winter games in Calgary.
John Saunders and I anchored ESPN's coverage of the event from a hilltop tent outside a Calgary television station.
This was the first time for Canada to host the Olympics and the weather was unseasonably balmy. Chinook winds were blowing warm air into Calgary throughout the games, but there was plenty of snow for the Alpine events.
These were the Olympics of the Jamaican bobsleigh team, Katarina Witt, Debbie Thomas, Bonnie Blair, Matti Nykanen, Brian Boitano and so much more.
Covering the 1988 Olympics was a real treat for our entire ESPN crew and a truly great flashback memory.
