BRACKET UPDATE

 In case you are keeping score ( and who isn't)

My "TOUGHEST MASCOT" bracket was a disaster. 

I only have 5 teams left in the Sweet 16.

 ( Kentucky, ND, Wisconsin, Michican State and Duke)

My championship game is still intact though, with 

The Blue Devils spearing the Wildcats for the title.

I am doing better with my "4 MINUTE BRACKET" 

(so named because it took me a total of 4:00 to fill it out.

I have nine teams left in the Sweet 16

( KY, ND, Wichita St, Wisconsin, N. Carolina, Xavier, Michigan St, Duke and Gonzaga)

My championship game in that bracket has

 Kentucky beating Duke for the NCAA title.

Let the games begin again!

MASCOT BRACKETS

 This year, I decided to do a MASCOT BRACKET 

for the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

I marked make my brackets based solely on 

which team mascot seemed tougher than its opponent

Some of the match ups were easy picks.

I mean WISCONSIN BADGERS VS COASTAL CAROLINA "CHANTICLEERS" ( Roosters)

            Badgers get the edge- EASY.

CINCINNATI VS PURDUE? 

Not so easy. Bearcats can be tough, but I figure a big guy with a shot and a beer and a hammer in his hand should win that battle.

Tough call with VILLANOVA AND LAFAYETTE, too.

The Wildcats vs the Leopards. I like Nova but in the wild kingdom, the leopard wins.

Same thing for LOUISVILLE VS UC- IRVINE.

The Cardinals vs the Anteaters. I figure the birds can "out-run" the Eaters and "beak peck" them silly.

Advantage red birds

How about VIRGINIA VS BELMONT(without Dion)?

UVA is the #2 seed, but they are Cavaliers. You can't go into the NCAA tourney cavalierly and expect to beat the Bruins.

MASCOTS ( I mean TEAMS) TO WATCH?

Stephen F. Austins' Lumberjacks. 

They make it to the Sweet 16 before falling to Duke. 

(how do you beat the Devil?)

University of Alabama Birmingham.

They are called the "Blaze" but UAB's mascot is a Dragon. Big upside there, but Bama- Birm falls to Duke in the Elite 8.

 (the Devil is formidable. do you see a trend here?)

In conclusion. 

Duke beats a very tough Michigan State Spartans' team in the Final 4  and Kentucky's Wildcats knock off Wisconsin's Badgers to advance to the NCAA Championship game.

YOU CANT BEAT THE DEVIL IN  MASCOT BRACKET PLAY, SO DUKE WINS THE NATIONAL TITLE OVER KENTUCKY AND RUINS THE Cats PERFECT SEASON.

HOT BRACKETS!

I've never done well with office pools or NCAA brackets, so when I decide to fill them out, I try to make them 

interesting and entertaining for ME.

For the past few years, I have tried to fill out one bracket as quickly as possible, using as little thought and knowledge as possible. I still have not won anything, but I have had more fun than in previous years when I didn't win anything.

This year, I finished my bracket in 4 minutes . 

I have Kentucky, Wichita State, Wisconsin, Virginia , 

Villanova, Michigan, Duke and Gonzaga in the Elite 8. 

Kentucky, Wisconsin, Nova and Duke make it to the Final 4

 and the Wildcats beat Duke in the championship game.

PLEASE! NO WAGERING!
